Memories In A Moment - December 30th

The Christmas holiday is right around the corner.  I can't believe it's here already!  I know you'll be taking tons of pictures to remember this special time. 

Join me on Wednesday, December 30th for this fun and festive holiday class. With Christmas passed and memories made, you'll be able tuck your special moments safely away.  Create a 5x7 mini album using Bazzill Board and Plastic Paper along with tons of other Bazzill products.  And if that's not enough, we're coordinating it all with the Let it Snow line from Three Bugs in A Rug.  This 2-hour class will have you walking out the door with a completed album and tons of ideas to create additional albums!

With the days counting down until Christmas, I thought it would be the perfect time to share some of the ideas I had for tags, cards & gifts for the holiday.  Let me show you how to create fun projects using your Microsoft Word and Powerpoint programs.  Here's just a sneak peek at some of the things we'll be working on.

Fiskars TV

While I was in Orlando this summer for the CHA show, I was asked to film an episode of Fiskars TV using Bazzill products.  I was so thrilled to be asked.  Slowly, my thrill became panic when I realized that I had no idea what I was doing.  After arriving, I was "mic'd" (they attached a microphone to me) and told to stay close to the filming area.  Of course, my brain heard but my body didn't listen and I accidentally became detached.  The nice guy put it on again and I was ready to film.   Since I hadn't done this before, I didn't have any way to practice what I was going to say.  Suzanne was great at leading me along.  I was soooo nervous.  Once the cameras started rolling, I realized I had never asked where I was supposed to look.  I decided that down was a good place, looking at the project almost the entire time.  WRONG IDEA!  I looked like I was talking to my chest.  When it came time to put the jewels on the project, I used a nifty Fiskars Craft Knife and proceeded to fling jewels all over the place.  Thank God for editing because they took that part out.  All in all, it was a fun experience and I now know what questions to ask if ever approached again.

"I Conquered" Photo Contest beginning soon!

Have you been practicing the techniques you've learned in your Conquer classes using Photoshop Elements?  Are you just dying to show off your work?  Well, here's your chance.  In just a few short days, we'll begin the "I Conquered" photo contest. 

Submit as many as three (3) entries per person for a chance to win a FREE Conquer your Computer class.  And if that's not enough, be a guest contributor to a future Conquer class.  Your winning entry will be taught to the students so they can learn the techniques used to create your masterpiece.  Interested? 

Here's how to participate.  Submit your photo creation in JPG format to me at conqueryourcomputer@yahoo.com.  I will need the original photo (the "before" photo) as well. Please keep your entry to less than 5mb in size.  Keep the layered PSD file, just in case you're a winner.  I will need it for class. 

Contest entries will be accepted from November 9th through November 19th.  All entries will be posted on the blog on November 20th and voting will begin.  Blog visitors and a special guest photographer will vote and the winner will be announced on the blog December 1st. 

Official Rules:  The "I Conquered" contest is limited to those students only who have attended a Conquer Your Computer class.  Non-student entries will not be accepted.  A maximum of three (3) entries per person will be accepted.  Entries must be submitted via email and must contain the original "before" photo and the photo creation "after" photo in JPG format (not to exceed 5mb in size).  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Thursday, November 5th Conquer 2

With the holidays quickly approaching, I thought it would be a good time to present some photo greeting card ideas.  In Thursday's class, you'll not only learn how to create your own photo greeting cards but you'll receive 5 layered PSD files on your Conquer CD.  All you'll need to do is add photos and print.  You can check that "to do" off your list.  Here are some examples...

Just a few class examples for Saturday's Conquer 2 and 3 - Photoshop Elements

As promised, here are a few examples of the projects that we'll be working on this weekend.  After teaching Conquer 2 for the past 2 years, I'm excited to be teaching a more advanced class.  Conquer 3 will take you steps further in understanding how to create amazing photo creations.  I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!

In Conquer 2, learn to restore old photos.  These same techniques will also work to repair current photos, remove blemishes, "thin" a person and so much more.

 

Convert a color photo to black & white, adjust the contract and add a border to the edge.

As an added bonus, learn the steps to creating a one-of-a-kind photo slide show.  Add your favorite music to add that special memory.  To top it all off, learn to burn to CD or DVD or transfer to a file format that can easily be played on your own computer.

Introducing Conquer 3; Learn to use adjustment layers to create new looks.  Give your photo that professional look even if the photo wasn't taken by a pro.  Clipping Masks will have you amazed and you'll even walk away with the knowledge to create your own masks & frames.  Want a vintage look to a current photo?  No problem.  Have you purchased online Digital kits but don't know how to use them?  Don't worry.  We'll not only use them but we'll create our own.  Check out these examples... 

 

 

 

 



 
 
  
 
 
 

Sneak Peeks for Saturday's Classes

Greetings from Las Vegas!  Yes, I said Las Vegas.  Bazzill has kept me hopping...plane hopping that is.  Actually, this trip is for fun but I've been traveling so much lately, I haven't had a minute to post this Saturday's projects.  Don't worry!  I'll be back on Thursday night and will post the projects we'll be working on in class  Don't forget, if you're registered for both classes on Saturday, I'm bringing lunch.  So, until Thursday, hope life is treating you well and you're enjoying our cooler weather.
